390 Headers with a Bendix Box?

Post by Rockerdog »

Ok, I read the 1,000 or so posts about Camper Special/Header issues. :fr:
I was about to sign off when I came across a thread that said Bendix boxes interfere with headers
Ahhhhhhhh come on really? I thought I was all clear since I don't have the sway bar and the "Under Bed" tank is coming out due to a huge hole rendering it worthless.
Anyone heard of this? What header will clear the Bendix box? Sheesh! :help:

Thanks!

Hey John, this is Drew. I have headers with Bendix box with no issues. Unfortunately, I do not know the brand but I can take pics for you or you can look at them to try and match them with others. I'm hoping they will work with the Ford box. If not, they will be yours.

Hey Drew,
From what I've read, the Ford box is not an issue with headers. I didn't notice which box the parts truck had. Did you?
Hedman seems to be the affordable header of choice on the forums. Nicely priced from Summit.
BTW I've passed up several offers to buy the whole truck. Going to start taking it apart this week. I'm fighting hard against the urge to graft both cabs together and extend the frame. It really is a sickness LOL
