Summary:
|
Ford Campaign No. 154.
Equipped with 460 cid engine and 4350-4V carburetor. Possibility that
the carburetor was built with secondary throttle stop lever that was
stamped with an adverse step or discontinous surface on the upper
periphery of the lever. |
Consequence: |
This surface irregularity
could impede the secondary lockout lever from riding down the upper
cam-like surface of the secondary throttle stop lever. Should the
lockout lever catch on the adverse step of the secondary stop lever and
result in the secondary throttle plate being held open which could
result in vehicle accelerating to an excessive speed. |
Remedy:
|
correct by inspecting and
installing a newly designed secondary throttle lockout lever where
necessary |
