Ok so no one has done this swap :? Does anyone know if the Dana 20 will bolt right on to the transmission adapter for a Dana 21 :?

I don't know....If it were me I'd swap in a married 435/205 combo to replace the 21. Have you checked out adapter sites like Novak or Advance adapters to see if you can determine it there. I have a hunch it's not a common swap if it's doable at all.

The best I can do for you is suggest this:

http://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product/NP ... n_Adapters

Then go with a Twin Stick shifter and you ar all done...

But that's for putting a NP435 in an early bronco. Per the 4-wheeler article he doesn't need an adapter to go from the D21 he has to a Bronco D20. So according to that it would be easy to put an NP435 from an f100 4x4 into an early bronco just by swapping t-cases on the back of the tranny? Anyone in the early bronco world heard of that? If it's a popular swap from an F-100 4x4 into a bronco, then it would make sense that he could put a bronco case on the back of the tranny he has? :hmm:

OK.. The easy answer...

Find a Bronco guy selling a 435/d20 combo (www.broncofix.com or www.classicbroncos.com) and swap the whole shooting match into your truck...

No muss, no fuss, and you know it works...

But feel free to ask questions.... more than happy to answer from the bronco side...

Sorry...What is it that is confusing? I always make sense to myself but........that's not always the case for others.

Like said above- The easy answer is to find a setup already complete. Cheaper yet would be a NP435/NP205 combo from a later model F-150..(77-79 comes to mind) and swap that into place.

And the hard question: Can you bolt a bronco D20 in place of a D21? Still hasn't been answered definitively.
