Here is my refurbished heater box. I have some roof dents to tackle next and some dents in the back of the cab to work out. Once those are done I will start working on the passenger door. Well here is the heater box.

I believe this is a dual diaphragm unit.

I also have the master cylinder/booster from a 1979 f250. I noticed that there is an offset arm for increased leverage. I wonder if I can use the lever arm on the 8" dual diaphragm booster? This would increase pressure on the master cylinder while keeping the pedal pressure reasonable? And since I have the 1978 f250 front axle with dual piston calipers I think I need to use a 1.25" bore master cylinder.

Well, digging into the 79 brake booster revealed that its junk all the way through. So I will continue cleaning the booster I have and look at a 1995 explorer.

Yep, thats what you have, a dual diaphragm brake booster. They were on the heavy duty trucks. And you are correct on the master cylinder. With the big dual piston calipers you'll want the larger bore master cylinder. I'm not familiar with the newer style brake booster with the lever arm. It could help with the action but I'm not sure how well or if you could adapt it to the truck??? Hopefully someone on here has some experience with them.

Yeah, the lever is a dead issue. It was rusted beyond use!

So I went and picked up some parts today. I got another known good booster and master cylinder. I also got a pto driven Holmes Wrecker winch. This thing is a beast. A member over at FTE was scrapping a 1970 F350 Wrecker after pulling the motor.

Working on hunting gathering now. Trying to find parts i have squirreled away so they can start to be cleaned up and re-installed. I did move the chassis over next to the garage.
