Finished up the Trans today. All re-sealed and painted.

Got the T-case on the bench and started disassembly. Found out the four mounting studs are shot and had to order one from Torque King, as the are reproducing them. $143 for 4 with shipping and tax. If I still had access to a lathe I would have tried fixing mine up.

So no progress today, but a little regress. Found that the side cover has a leak, so I will pull it tomorrow. I do have another gasket, I just have to get some RTV now.

Was able to fix the trans leak. A little RTV and a new gasket and it's all good.

So I started working on the t-case. I finally got the rusted mounting studs removed from both units. Neither of the cases have had good studs so I ordered them from Torque King. I have the poly bushings already. Now with parts from both cases I will one great one, and one parts unit. Between the two I have one set of great mounting bars cleaned and painted. A lot of work just to bet to this point. Still working on getting the yokes off. Managed to get one off the parts unit so far.

Here is the cleaned and paint mounting bars with new mounts set in place

Got all three Yokes off. The rear one has a lot of wear in the seal area, good thing the spare case has a good one.

Got the three covers off the front of the T-Case and old gaskets off. I have reinstalled the center and input covers so far. I will get the front shaft cover installed tomorrow. Then I am going to drop the yokes into some evapo rust for cleaning.

Got some more done tonight. The last big thing is to pull the PTO cover and clean inside. Then the mounting surface and cover need to be prepped for the new gasket. I will try and post an updated pic tomorrow.

So here are pictures to catch up to where I am today. I did receive the new T-Case Mounting Studs from Torque King and they are GREAT! I was able to pull the PTO plate off the bottom get it cleaned and re-installed. The inside of the case is clean and the red paint inside is still good.

The T-Case is re-assembled and painted. The correct yokes are re-installed. I say correct because the front of the case had two 1310 yokes, should have been a 1310 and a 1330. Good thing the parts case was correct. Turns out my parts case is the original for the truck, and the one I redid was the extra. It had a lot less wear on most of the parts so it is a win - win. Pictures to come soon.

So while posting on FTE I was asked about which u-joints are used 1310 or 1330. So I was checking and noticed that the Front Driveshaft Yoke on the T-Case did not look correct. When I matched to the Driveshaft it was too small. I checked my second case and it was the correct size. So one case I believe had the yoke replaced. Since All the drive shafts have been rebuilt and painted I didn't want to change the U-Joint. I pulled the correct one and got it installed. Funny how these posts help in my build!

Now that the T-Case is done I have to get to the next job.
