I recently purchased a 1973 F250 camper special.
When driving at night my headlights and interior lights are surging.. bright..dim.
Does anyone know how to fix that?
I was going through the electrical and wondering if the ballast resistor could be the problem?

Re: Surging electrical
I had a couple issues with similar symptoms: 1) Voltage regulator was tired; 2) wiring and a series of bad grounds.
In the end though, I ended up replacing the original alternator for a 3G, and converting the headlights to a relay system.

You can either host it some where online and then link it using img tags, or if it is a small enough file size you can attach it directly in the reply window by using the tab “attachments" below the reply window (next to “options”) and check the box that says “place inline” or something like that.Tingalls wrote:How do I attach a picture?

Re: Surging electrical
That's what I typically do. https://fordification.com/forum/viewtop ... 569200cb08DuckRyder wrote:..or if it is a small enough file size you can attach it directly in the reply window by using the tab “attachments" below the reply window (next to “options”)...
If it's too big I edit the photo in Paint, resize to 800x600 pixels and save as a .jpeg file. Usually gets it down under 500kb.
Note: Looks like it's changed a little since I wrote that. I can't believe it's been 7 years! Where did they go....?
