Stock Drag Link question

Post by rbmead »

I have a 1972 F100 that I have swapped in a 78 Bronco front axle. along with a 2" coil lift from SkyJacker.
will the stock steering Drag Link form a 78 Bronco work? also, with the steering wheel centered. :D
or will I need a longer one?

Thanks

after this comes the Brakes... oh joy.. :help:

At 2" you are on the borderline of needing the adjustable drag link. I added 6" to the suspension of om EB and had no choice but put one on.
But it is money well spent as if you've already done the lift you've noticed your steering wheel no longer turns to the right as far as it does to the left. The adjustable;e drag l;ink takes all the variables out of the equation and lets you fine tune the front steering as it should be.
There are many...other brands of them, II bought one from the Graveyard that lasted me another 15 years of wheeling. :drive:

I drove my EB with a 6" lift kit in it for only a few miles, (they have a habit of the old Ford saying "doglegging" down the road without the proper drag link  ) before ordering the adjustable from i believe James Duff.
There's several different folks that make these to so shop around for the best price and best one.

I will jump in and pretty much second basketcase. Have lil red my 74 bronco. Has 2.5 under it with stock stuff. 2 inch 2.5 inch is the borderline for needing upgraded adjustable stuff. Lil red turns harder one way than the other and the front axle is off center just a little. It's the war to be waged with them. That's an ancient rancho kit probably late 80's so it was not as precise as the good parts your can get now and make a perfect front end.
