Re: STICKY: Best mods or upgrades you have done to your bump?
I have a 3/6 DJM lowering kit on my 68 sb fleet side. When i was installing the front i beams i went ahead and installed all new tie rods, drag link bar, shocks, king pin. On the rear i installed all new leaf spring bushings, shocks, axle bearings. 18 inch wheels, power disc brakes all around, changed the c6 auto column shift to a rebuilt and hopped up AOD with a Lokar floor shift. Installed some nice leather bucket seats out of a yukon, that took some crazy mods to get them to sit right but i got them cheap. The truck already came with a Ron Francis wiring kit but there was some issues there that i had to debug. I am now attempting to build a console then ill get a new stereo system.

Re: STICKY: Best mods or upgrades you have done to your bump?
My favorite mod is my TKO-600 transmission! Having the overdrive is so awesome!
Second place would have to be my JDM 58" Lightning traction bars.
Third place is a tie between my 351 Cleveland, 4.56 gears, Eaton TrueTrac, 3" & 4" drop, sway bars, wide steel wheels, power brakes, and power steering.
Basically, there's no mod that I regret!

Oh, and best safety mods I've done are 3-point seatbelts, disc brakes, and TruckLite LED headlights!

Re: STICKY: Best mods or upgrades you have done to your bump?
Good choice from what I've heard. Back when I converted to power steering, I bought a parts house reman box before I found out about the Redhead boxes. It's still working fine, but I will definitely put the Redhead if I ever have to replace it!Busboy wrote:After trying 2 used steering gearboxes, replacing the box with a Redhead rebuilt one.

Re: STICKY: Best mods or upgrades you have done to your bump?
So far the single best thing I've done to my Bump is replace the points with a Pertronix Igniter. Of course I haven't done much yet, so there's still plenty of time. I'm looking forward to getting the 4V intake and a new carb or EFI installed, and headers, but that's a different budget for a different day.

Re: STICKY: Best mods or upgrades you have done to your bump?
The only mods I've done have been swapping the 390 w/a 460, from my 86 E250, and replacing the rear drum brakes(3x12) w/the drum brakes(3 1/2x12) also from the E250.

Re: STICKY: Best mods or upgrades you have done to your bump?
[image][/image]This upgrade is probably nothing new, but here it comes anyway. I have a 1972 Bump project that had a rusted out drivers side inner fender, radiator support mount, front cad/frame mount. I purchased a 1978 f150 4X4 locally for parts. I exchanged the whole inner front clip along with the steering column and the cab support mounts. I would love to hear some more mods like this for some other upgrades. I still have the hood latch system to contend with along with trying to use the '78 wiring harness in my '72. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin
