thanks to wt4speed#2 (Tony) I scored an underdash A/C unit for my truck. I was wondering how I can test this thing to see if everything is operational. I'm assuming that the only working and moving part on this thing is the blower motor. so, if anyone can tell me how to test it it would be appreciated.
I still need to clean it up but that will come in due time.

re: A/C ?
If all you want to do is check out the blower motor for operation, you should just be able to touch the main power wire to a 12V battery's + post and the ground wire to the battery's - post, then flick the switch. However, before doing so you might want to make sure the blower motor spins freely (not siezed up) and that there isn't any debris in the blower fins.

re: A/C ?
well, I finally had some time to try what you said. the motor does not spin freely but it does spin when I make it spin. it's not seized but it won't spin with little effort. I touched the wires to the corresponding batt. posts and got nothing. would it be safe to say that the motor is bad? is the motor the only thing that could be bad or do I need to take the whole unit apart?

ok, I went out there again and this time I got alot of spark and the wires got hot. but still, the motor did not spin. I'm having trouble figuring out which wire is the positive because they are both black.
any ideas?

Do either of them have a stripe on it?
