Looking for Detailed Engines Pictures

Post by Jkittle »

I'm looking for detailed engine pictures for 1969 360 FE with an oil bath air cleaner. I'm in the process of restoring the truck and want to keep it all factory. I'd like to be able to see paint colors, wiring, decals and decal placements.

I've searched this site and the internet. Anyone have any idea where I can find picture or a book that would show this type of detail?

I have a few of my 72 390 before anyone made any changes, it still had the factory spark plug wires.

If it will help let me know and I'll post what I have.

I can help a little, I used to be a MCA judge for the mustang, Similar specs. The 1 thing that causes a lot of problems is the engine block color, Never use the ford blue....The correct color is either called ford corprate blue or ford dark blue....The oil bath cleaner is painted Semi flat black, or what you can find close....A lot of detailing decals can be purchased thru one of the Mustang catalogs. The usual truck suppliers are not handling the correct detail decals....Also I will attempt this week to take a few photos of mine, Close to correct. Not all the way complete, with some touch up.....

Thanks for the link. Good pics.

The only thing I really need now is to know what the two decals on the oil bath air cleaner are.

Thanks that would be great. The 360 CI decal is still readable but there was another decal on it that I can't see what it was.

I forgot, does anyone know how to reproduce the yellow "OK" stamp that is on the drivers side valve cover. I can barely read mine but I would like to freshen them up and put it back on.

OK The breather itself is the satin or semi gloss black, The tongue or snorkle is painted the ford blue, the whole peice from where it is bolted on. The 360 decal is right there on the black painted part, where the snorkle bolts on. It has the curve, the decal is placed right up next to the braether body.....If I can get my computer to send a photo I will attempt to send the photo....

For the OK stamp, check the Mustang restoration houses.... that is the same stamp as all the Fords used.
