Certainly does help oldschoolrods.
I like the idea of the ties.
The added benefit i can see with that is no residue left behind from the tape.
Ties and plenty of photoes it is.
Thanks.
Until now cars have been like what water out of a tap is to most city folk.
Turn the handle and it just flows/Turn the key and she just goes.
I have finally realised there is an engine on the otherside of the firewall !!!
Now...I just need to figure out how to pipe the power to my peddle!!!

robroy use of jackstands is great i will start doing it that way with the planks of wood, any saftey suggestions when using ramps? I already block the wheels, but more support could ease the mind

Hey Westernkansas,

As far as I know ramps are pretty secure if the wheels are blocked and if you're in gear and have the parking brake on (if you've got the front end raised).

I think the main idea is to have at least two redundant, sturdy support methods under the truck at all times (if you're going to climb under there). So if you're already using ramps you can supplement them with some carefully placed jack stands.

The planks of wood are really great because they're so much less likely to tip over!

All these guys have give sound advice. My best advice is pics, markers, and lots of patience. All this backed with asking questions when you encounter something you are unsure of will help.

If it wasnt for this belly I probably wouldn't need to lift the thing off the ground except for brake work
