Well, I MUST be doing something wrong as far as the database backup goes...I simply cannot seem to get a non-corrupt file. I'm at a complete loss. The forums were down from about 11PM until about 8AM this morning while my computer was downloading the backup, but it's no good....again!!
I've contacted someone who knows more about this than I to get some tips on how to properly back this up and then upload it to our new hosts. Depending on what I learn, I just wanted everyone to know that the forums might be going offline without notice again while another backup is attempted. I could simply start up a new forum at the new home, but all the good info we've amassed over the past few years would be lost, and that's completely unacceptable to me....so if it means a week or so of the forum going offline periodically while the database is saved, so be it.
Just please be patient, folks...I realize that stopping by here to chit-chat and/or get/offer help is something that's become a habit with many of you, and I'm grateful for that...and for your patience in getting this move underway.
