Dana model 24 transfer case
I have a Dana model 24 transfer case in my 1971 F250. Does anyone have any information in this thing? Is it a good T-case?

In my opinion its good. Parts are hard to find and some people switch to the 205. Doug

Thanks guys, are there any other reference sites that may include the Dana 24? If I needed parts, where might I look? This thing looks like its in "like new" condition. Will it handle my F250 application (medium to heavy) for towing and mudding?

You can also buy used rebuildable cores for 250. Their price is about 200 less than what I paid for one through drivetrain specialists here in town. Pretty much a bolt in to the existing, only change I had was to upgrade to the bigger ujoin that matches the ones on the rear driveshafts on the intermediated engine to transfercase driveline at the transfercase input yoke. OH and a speedo cable change but still haven't gotten to that.

What is the solution to the speedo cable when doing the 205 swap? I ran a 205 in mine for a while but never got around to figuring it out. Thanks Doug
