your ongoing identification/vin project

You said some ppl report variations in the VIN re: production stats.

My (1972) VIN is:
F25YRP86903, and via your excellant decoding I'd say it was made in San Jose late 1972.

Thanks for sharing that....yeah, sounds like your truck was one of the very last trucks of this bodystyle built in the San Jose plant.

Your site is very good, and I anticipate many pleasant exchanges.
I had to pour 3 quarts of Mercon III into the trans.
It now runs/shifts smoothly.
I guess a small leak plus five years to do it adds up.

Given time/money I think I'll be able to demonstrate that Ford
had a good product, perhaps quite good after six years practice at it.
No matter what, I will take before/after shots as I go and
post them here in your project forum.
